Oldboy (2013)
This is the American remake of the Korean film of the same
name. this film is violent, but not frequently so as the original. Josh Brolin
does a fine job at getting you on his side, with fine support from Elisabeth
Olsen. The direction from Spike Lee is good, with some nice shots of the rainy
city. Also, the atmosphere of the claustrophobic room that the character is
trapped in is conveyed with a lot of skill for the audience to feel that way.
The action scenes are well choreographed and have a stylised visceral impact.
Overall, a very good film.
