Zombie Flesh Eaters AKA Zombie
Part of the ‘video nasty’ list, this film does cater to the
needs for gore.
A group of people head to an island where a person is
conducting weird experiments.
I can see why this was a ‘video nasty’ back in the day, but
by today’s standard it’s not as graphic. Although it still carries a good few
shocks that are still scary and gruesome. It’s also got a spooky atmosphere of
dread hanging over it that amplifies the gore scenes. If you have watched a lot
of horror films with extreme violence and gore effects, then this will be no
problem. It does contain some horrific close-up shots of injury that are quite
hard on the viewer, but in this day and age of extreme cinema, this is tame
compared to today’s standards. Not to say that it isn’t a good film, it’s well
made, the actors are good and the shocks are there. What more do you want?
