Idle Hands

This film starts out like a teen comedy drama. Then, when the main plot device kicks in, it morphs into a gory horror, retaining the teen aspect of the previous scenes. And a HUGE emphasis is placed on the comedy, as well. Oh, yeah, this is definitely a comedy horror. The comedy coming first. And it’s done really well, handled with panache by the director and cast. It is also really funny. I laughed out loud on more than three occasions. It did feel like it had taken more than a bit of inspiration from a few other horror films, but that didn’t bother me. It’s better for a film to have taken inspiration from another film and made a good film out of it, than a film that has taken inspiration and made a bad film out of it. And this is definitely a good, very entertaining film.
