Now, I didn’t like the first Killjoy, but the third in the
series is a really BIG step up. The acting is good, the make-up is better than
the first, although I have to say that the clown was a bit creepier than this,
there was a scary feeling about seeing an evident man in a clown suit, whereas
in this one it’s much more fantastical looking. However, the visual effects are
great. There’s a lot more gore than I was expecting, having seen the relatively
tame first film. The story is interesting, with the characters coming into
contact with a mystical mirror. No, this isn’t Mirrors; it’s got a different
purpose. The sets are gorgeous looking, and there is some perverse dark humour.
Overall, this is a great horror film, not brilliant but great.
