Macbeth is a beautiful film, the director filling the screen with the most colour that he can possibly have. The actors and actresses do a fine job and bring to life these characters. However, if you are not familiar with the Shakespeare play this is based upon, then you might find yourself lost among the story. It is advisable that you get familiar with the source material beforehand, then. Although, you might still find the film enthralling, with it’s bloody and grim battles, to the intrigues behind closed doors. The ending is abrupt and does end it all quite fast, but other than those minor things, this is a great art-house film based on a Shakespeare play.
