A re-animate serum goes wrong, turning the dead into crazed
killers. It sounds better than it actually is. This is disappointing, because I
was looking forward to this film. The major thing this film does is to be so
boring and uninteresting. Plus, the characters were bland and they continuously
spouted exposition heavy dialogue which I couldn’t care about. It looks like it
will be a fun film, full of action and horror, but actually it’s a drama with
some horror elements, and it’s boring because it’s not very well acted and the
story is unoriginal and bares influences from films like Re-Animator and
obviously Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. However, it’s not as good as those
films. It feels like a straight-to-DVD horror film trying to cash in. Apart
from this, there are some effective horror moments, mainly the end scenes when
it all kicks off after an hour of build-up. Those were the best scenes for me.
The end was really predictable, though, which was sad because I was waiting for
a twist to happen which never did. It was just the main character’s story and
nothing else really. It’s a shame. It could have been better. I have seen worse
films, but this was just so boring. It didn’t really go anywhere. On the plus
side, some of the effects were good. I wouldn’t recommend this film to people
who like horror.
