Fright Flick starts out like scenes we see in a generic
slasher film. A woman showers nude whilst a shadow falls on the closed curtain.
It is then revealed, whilst everyone is thinking that the person behind the
curtain will kill her or do something else horrible to her, it’s only her
friend. After the friend gets into bed, ready for the woman to come and have
sex with him, he gets bloodily murdered. How the woman reacts is completely
over-the-top! It is then revealed that it’s all part of a film shoot. The thing
is, outside the film shoot, the acting is nearly just as terrible. To be honest
with you the gore effects save this film from total worthlessness, and there
are some sleazy scenes, especially during the opening credits. But it’s just as
generic a story as the one the characters are filming. Basically, it’s your
typical slasher film where a film crew gets picked off one by one. There,
that’s the story. I didn’t mind that, but it’s just a generic production. I
would recommend this only to people who love slasher films. I really like
slasher films, as I do all of horror, but I think this is just an average entry
into the subgenre.
