I haven’t played
the game on which this is based, nor do I know anything about it other than
it’s about warcraft. It’s safe to say that going into this movie, I wasn’t
expecting much. I have to say, it passed my expectations which were very low. I
thought it would be a teenage swipe at The Lord of the Rings. And it is in a
sense. It borrows certain elements from that trilogy. It also mostly plays like
a video game cutscene, a well-choreographed and directed one. Sometimes it felt too cartoony, like I wasn’t
watching a live-action movie, but other times the CGI was great. Overall, I did
enjoy this film. It’s not an Oscar winning film, but it is perfect if you want
to see Warcraft on the screen.
