From the producers of the Saw franchise comes a house of
horrors. Julie Benz stars as a recovering addict who lost her child whilst
under the influence. She arrives
at Havenhurst which looks like a haven, but
underneath the surface is anything but. Havenhurst is a place where former
abusers of any kind of anti-social behaviour go. Jackie (Julie Benz) is
welcomed with open arms by the landlord Eleanor. It doesn’t take Jackie long to
find out that the house is home to lots of other dirty doings.
I am a huge fan of horror, and I really enjoyed this
film. It keeps you on the edge, wanting to see what secrets the house holds. It
is a well-directed film and the gore, which there really isn’t much of, to be
honest, is very well done. The acting is great, Julie Benz being a terrific
heroine. The landlord Eleanor is also well acted and hides a menace underneath
her calm persona. The ending is ok, I won’t spoil it.
Overall, it’s a really fun film, which provides the
thrills.
Thanks again to Soda Pictures for sending me a copy of
the film to review.
Resurrection of Evil is out on DVD 9th
October 2017.
