Midway (2019)

An action-filled war movie set in World War II. 

When Roland Emmerich is 

at the helm you generally know what the movie is going to be, and I wasn't disappointed with the action, which is bombastic and beautifully shot. 

The 1970's Midway was ok, but it was repetitive and, ultimately too much of the same thing in the end, for me. 

The 2019 version of Midway, on the other hand, is better for me. If you like action, then you'll enjoy this movie because it is filled with it. Although it is kind of the same thing (airplanes attacking aircraft carriers), the scale of the action felt bigger and, obviously, the visual effects were way better, although in some instances the green screen was pretty obvious and you could realise that what you were seeing wasn't really there and the actors were just looking at a screen. 

All in all, though, I highly recommend this movie if you are looking for a good action flick. It's not the best, but it's quite fun.
